August Newsletter

Well the hot, muggy weather is here. It finally rained last night but it was way too short-lived. Hopefully the monsoon sets in soon. This heat sure gets old fast. Jacob and I went to Scout camp (Geronimo) this last month. It was fun but a lot of work. Jacob finished several merit badges, so this next court of honor looks like it will be a good one. Jacob also gave a talk last week in sacrament meeting. He did a great job. He learned that it pays off to practice.

Chet and Courtney are planning on getting married on Sept. 18. They are very excited and so are we. They have been working all summer and hope to find an apartment soon. Chet is studying kinesiology and is planning to become a physical therapist. Erin and Josh are excited for their baby to arrive. Erin has been a trooper since being pregnant hasn't been easy on her... not that it's easy on anyone. I'm sure it is tough to be pregnant in this heat! They still expect a little girl on Oct. 4.

Zac is at football camp this week. Football camp is tough to get through since they go up to 7,000 ft. elevation (from 1500 ft.) and pretty much run their guts out all day long. Most players dread the experience, but it does toughen them up. They'll be in full pads in 110 degree heat here in the valley before too long.

Stacie was released from her Primary calling yesterday and it has been tough on her. Come to think of it, it's been tough on me too. She loves the primary kids. She still plays tennis almost every day. Jacob is looking forward to having Stacie to himself this week because Zac had her to himself while Jacob was at scout camp. That should be fun.

We hope all is well up north. Take care and pray for rain! :)
