This was easily the best game of the year for Shepherd. It was competetive and hard-fought, but the team hung in there and kept control of the line of scrimmage and the game. This game featured a late drive to the goal-line with a couple of runs behind Zac's blocking that led to the game winning touchdown. It was great to see. It's the first game Shepherd has won against Desert Vista, which boasts a pretty good freshman program. This was the second game I have seen at Desert Vista. Chet played a game there while on the Red Mountain JV team. That game also resulted in a win.
